We're heading to New Orleans again this year for Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait! Since we'll be out of town for the whole "Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday" shopping extravaganza, I've decided against doing my usual sale in my etsy shoppe. But don't worry, that doesn't mean there aren't any deals/specials to be had!

  • With every purchase between now and December 19th, I'll include one of my gift tags, so you can snazzy up your gift.
  •  I'm also offering a $5.00 discount on any purchase of $20.00 or more.  Just use code "SHOPEARLY" at checkout.
  • As always if there is something you've seen on jenniferjohansson.com or at an art fair that you'd like to purchase, and I don't carry it in my etsy shoppe, I'll still honor the discount!)

Shipping Deadlines:
  • All orders must be placed by Thursday, December 19th to ensure Christmas delivery.
  • Between December 20th and January 2nd, I'll be on vacation and will be unable to fulfill any orders. So get your shoppin' on now!
Early Thanksgiving blessings to you!

Out With the Old......

Happy 2012 friends! I hope that the holiday season and the first few days of the new year have been good to you. I am happy to be back home in Carbondale after 2 trips up north in as many weeks.

I spent today cleaning my house, and decided to do the same in my Etsy shoppe.  I've placed several of my older original ACEO's on sale. Most of these pieces are from my long running Floral Improv collection and feature cut magazine and ink embellishments.  Originally $20.00, these little beauties are now priced at $12.00. That's 40% off of the original price! Woo.

ACEOs (Art, Card, Edition, Originals) measure just 2.5" x 3.5" and make great gifts. Go. Buy!

CYBER MONDAY! The Sale Continues!

Greetings friends! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend.

We traveled up to Rockford and celebrated with both Matt's family and mine. (Did I ever tell you that our parents live 2 blocks away from each other? Crazy!) We got to eat a little at both houses. Here are my highlights:  Grandma Vicki's (Matt's mom) sourdough bread stuffing, my mom's Italian sausage bread, my cousin Breana's banana cream pie, and Matt sister Carrie's salted caramel cheese cake. I love my carbs!

We also traveled to Chicago to celebrate my parent's 37th wedding anniversary with them. We shopped, saw a spectacular show (Memphis) and had a dinner I'll never forget at  Rick Bayless's Topolobampo. Our 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings included genius combinations like Foie Gras and sherry, Wagyu ribeye and black mole, bittersweet chocolate cake chocolate-red wine sorbet. The wait staff was incredible and went out of their way to accommodate Matt's food allergies. What a night!

On the Etsy front, my weekend sale continues!

All of my shoppe listings are set up with free shipping, but you have to do a little work to get the 20% discount. Hop on over to my Papernstitch exhibition to score that one, and do check out the other fab artists there while you're there.

Happy shopping! Ta-Ta for now.

12 Months of Cozy

Happy Early Thanksgiving friends!

Matt and I are about to get in the car and make a 6 hour trek up north to celebrate the holiday with the family. I can't wait for stuffing, potatoes and pie!

I'm pleased to present my newest creation to you today.....Ta-Da!

My 2012 Wall Calendar features 12 months of cozy! Each month includes a comfortable little room piece, that reflects the particular season.  The pages measure 8.5" x 11" so you get a nice big image and a considerable amount of space to write. I did all of the printing myself with pigment inks on a nice archival matte paper.

I decided to leave the pages loose, so they can be configured and hung in a variety of ways. Display them all at once and fill a whole wall, use a magnet to display a page at a time on the fridge, or just use the included binder clip to hang the calendar on a hook or nail.

The Cozy Calendar is available for sale in my Etsy shoppe and will also be available at the Rockford Art Museum gift shop. (I've also got cards, gift tags and prints there!)  And while we're at it, do check out my exhibition on Papernstitch. There is a discount code there you can apply to any purchase in my shoppe. Woo!

Well, Happy Turkey! Check back tomorrow to find out about my Black Friday Sale.  Ta-Ta.

Happy and Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I hope you will all be able to share this holiday with ones you love.

No school today, so I am getting an early start on the Thanksgiving celebration.  Jack (My soon-to-be stepson) and I  will be heading over to my mom's house to make pumpkin cookies, an old family favorite.  Yum!

Tomorrow,  Matt and I have two Thanksgiving dinners to attend.   We'll be with my family in the afternoon and then hop over to Matt's parents house in the evening. I'm looking forward to plenty of good company, good conversation, and way too much food.

I will be holding a Black Friday Sale in my Etsy shop. Details will be posted on the blog tomorrow. Be excited - some deep discounting!

Cheers!

ACEO Spree

First off, thanks to all who took the time to critique my work last week. I absolutely agree that its elements are not working together compositionally. I've decided to put it aside for a bit and come back to it. That seems to help sometimes. I'll be sure to share it when its been reworked.

In the meantime, I have been on an ACEO spree! I've whipped out 5 of these tiny 2.5" x 3.5" pieces in the last few days. It was liberating to work this small and fast after working larger for a time.

To celebrate my spree, I'm going to offer my newest bunch of ACEO's for just $10.00 each! (Standard price is $15.00). This price is only good until midnight Tuesday, April 14th....So hurry! Click your way over to my Etsy shop pronto.

Ciao!

I've decided to do a little "spring cleaning" in my Etsy shop and have marked down several original pieces. "A Spring Garden" pictured above, has been reduced from $65.00 to just $40.00. This is an original people. Its a steal!

Be sure to check out the whole Spring Cleaning section in my Etsy shop.

Blog Shout Outs

On Friday, my "Where I Belong" print was featured on the Scoutie Girl blog feature, "The Weekly Dig". This is a very cool big deal! Scoutie Girl, a design blog which focuses on handmade goods gets on average 13,000 unique visitors per month! Its so fun to see my work out there in the blogosphere.

On Sunday, Brandi of the Etsy shop Sweetharvey featured one of my original ACEO's on her blog. Brandi has a very cute letterpress shop and her work is right up my alley.

I'm heading back to work today. As you read this I am at the Teacher Retreat and most likely doodling in my sketchbook while I listen to the speaker. I don't know how often I will be posting to the blog during the school year. I'm hoping to still update at least twice a week, but my time is rarely my own when I am teaching.

My Chair Sale is still going on until Sunday, Sept 6th. Check it!

Have a great week. Patronize these fab blogs.
