Week/Weekend iPhoneography

Hi there! How are you?

My now weekly iPhoto post seems to keep creeping later and later into the week! Better late than never. Right?

The week started out warm and sunny. I wore my flippies to work on Thursday.
On Friday, winter came. I had to break down and turn on the heat and break out my boots and coats.

Despite the cold, there was still much goodness to be had at the farmer's market, which runs all the way through November!

Matt went up to Rockford to visit Jack.
He attended a Halloween party dressed as Giorgio Tsoukalos of Ancient Aliens fame.

I stayed home and went to see the Woodbox Gang at SIU.
I didn't get any good pics of the band but managed to get these of the ceiling and pipe organ.

We had to finally say goodbye to the garden on Sunday.
Before the frost set in, we were able to pick a slew of green tomatoes.
I've had them in paper bags since I picked them and they are ripening nicely.

Have a great rest of the week friends! Ta-ta!

Today's new listing

Hi there! As promised I've got another new fabric print listed for sale on Etsy.

This one features an abstract collage that I recently sold.
It embodies the color palette of my grandmother's house when I was growing up.
She had 2 different green shag carpets in her house. So 1970's!

I've had fun photographing these new fabric prints. There is something so rich about autumn light.

To prevent the fabric from fraying, I treat the edges with a strong acrylic fray check.
It works well and helps me keep my cost low on these prints.

Don't forget - use code EARLY20 at checkout and receive 20% your entire purchase in my etsy shoppe.

Hope you're having a great day. Ta-Ta!

Another iPhoto weekend

Expect to see this chair make an appearance in my work!
Hi there? How was the weekend?

We had another stellar Southern Illinois weekend.
Beautiful weather, good food, fun times with friends and great live music.
Here is my weekend in pictures.

Hobo Knife at Vulture Fest in Makanda, Illinois

The door to our friend Hugh's house in Makanda.
Hugh lives above the boardwalk in the center of downtown Makanda.
A charming little vignette in Hugh's apartment

We capped Saturday night off with a martini garnished with Mexican style picked vegetables homemade by Matt. Yum!

Have a great week friends. Ta-Ta.

P.S. Have you read yesterday's blog post? There's a DISCOUNT CODE! Woo!

New Hoop Art!

Hi! What's new?

I'm happy to have something new to show you! I finally had time to successfully photograph my new fabric hoop art prints.

As many of you know I have a part-time job working at a company that specializes in making dye-sublimated fabric graphics for trade show displays. I had the production department print some of my most popular designs onto a soft knit fabric.  I then stretched the prints into wooden embroidery hoops, creating an inexpensive but attractive way to create ready to hang prints. I must admit I'm happy with the results!

During dye-sublimation, heat is used to infuse the ink into the fabric, which makes the finished product vivid, sharp and very resistant to fading. It's an incredibly durable and versatile process.  At work, we make all sorts of things out of the fabric we print including enormous trade show displays, and hanging signs, table cloths, flags, floor rugs, etc. Anything you can make with fabric - we do!

"What you love" is the first fabric print I've listed on Etsy, but expect many more in the near future! Wahoo!

And.....To get you in the holiday shopping mood, I'm offering 20% off any purchase in my shoppe for the next month. Use code EARLY20 at checkout. But hurry - This offer expires November 20th!

Ta-Ta for now!

My Talented Friend!

Hello there.
How are you?
Do you watch Grey's Anatomy? Did you watch the season 9 premier and hear the song that played right as Mark died? (Fast forward to 2:38 in the clip.)

Well that was "Without You" by One Two.....And "One" of the Two is Jeremy Silver, a dear old friend of mine!

I first met Jeremy when he was 12 years old. He was a camper and I was a counselor at Camp Timberlane. Back in the day, he could often be found singing and playing guitar at the weekly campfires.

Now based in LA, Jeremy is professional musician and his music has been featured all over national television.  It's been so cool to see him grow up and become an incredible singer and songwriter!  Please patronize this talented friend of mine.

An Interview and Something New

Hi! How are you?

For a variety of reasons, things have gotten really busy and my little ole blog has been neglected. I wanted to let you know that I am indeed still alive and kicking, and will soon have some brand new products to share with you. (See the sneak peek above!)

I was honored to be interviewed by fellow etsyian Melissa Martinez on her Working Title/Gallery 3940 blog this week.  Click here to read the interview.  Thanks much Melissa!

Have a great weekend friends. Ta-Ta for now!

Autumn Walkabout

Hi. How are you?

It was a beautiful autumn weekend in Southern Illinois. Today we took a great hike in a nearby state park.

I used the panorama feature on the iPhone to capture this majestic tree.

Happy fall all. Ta-Ta for now!

Hi! How are you?

I'm happy to report that my 2013 wall calendars are printed and ready to go!

Each calendar page measures 8.5" x 11" and features one of my chair illustrations. The pages are left loose so you can hang them all together or just one at a time. A small binder clip is included for easy hanging on a hook or nail.

You can buy a 2013 calendar right now in my Etsy shoppe!
In the very near future, you can pick one up at my holiday shows in Southern Illinois and at the Rockford Art Museum Gift Shop.

New! Dala Prints and Cards

Hi there. It's 11:45 am and I'm already exhausted. Some 1st graders really gave me a run for my money today when I was subbing!

Now that I've sold the original "Dala" piece I created this spring,  I've added some Dala Horse merchandise to my etsy shoppe.

"Dala" is available as an 8"x8" archival print and as a set of six cards.  The print would be great in a children's room and the cards could be used as Christmas cards, thank-you's or an anytime note card. Both would be great for any Swede in your life!

Happy Monday. Ta-ta for now.
